In order to further enhance customer service in its markets around
theworld, Armacell regularly invests large sumsofmoney inupgrad-
ing its sites, thus setting the course for a successful future. InEurope,
the company’s strategy is to integrate all facilities in a production
network.While inMünster and increasinglyalso inSrodaSlaskahigh
volumes of technical insulationmaterials aremanufactured for the
wholeEuropeanmarket, theplants inBegurandOldhamare tailored
to the special requirements of the local markets. At the same time
they increase flexibility in the network and ensureoptimal capacity
utilization.

At its Spanish plant in Begur Armacell has alsomade important invest-
ments. Thepre-coveredArma-ChekproductsandArmaflexXGTopSeal,
a product which is currentlymainly sold in France, are now alsomade
here. At the same time a new batch ovenwas taken into service. The
discontinuousmanufacturing processwith a batch oven allows smaller
quantities of special dimensions to be produced with the same high
quality. In thisway flexibility at the site has been greatly improved and
delivery times further reduced.
SrodaSlaska (Poland)
The production facilities in Sroda Slaska in Poland were extended sig-
nificantly last year. On the new laminating line pre-covered products
suchasArma-ChekSilverand self-adhesivematerialsaremanufactured.

closed-cell EPDM foams. These Ensolite EF-0 products are used as gas-
kets and seals in the automotive industry and were previously made
only in Mebane (USA). Local production ensures a greatly improved
